Deborah, We are sorry to hear you are disappointed with your purchase. We are only able to locate this purchase in your name, we do not have any records of the same item being returned by you. We have carried this particular fixture since 2021 and it has not changed in material or design since. The shade is round and the materials are described as wood and metal online. We have not received any correspondence from you that your shipment may have been missing parts but the fixture does come with the metal rod which gets attached to the chain. Is it possible the installer neglected to assemble the fixture properly? The metal rod is almost 12 inches long so depending how tall your ceilings are there may not have been space to install that part as it is not adjustable like the chain.
